So, we’re into Matchday 3 of EURO 2012, and it’s been an exciting tournament so far. Lots of teams still in with a shout of qualifying, with only 2 teams having been knocked out so far.
Personally, I think you won’t go wrong if you put Russia’s stand-in keeper for Akinfeev, Malafeev, with Russia being generally the best team in terms of attack and defence in Group A. Poland’s Tyton might suffer from a few nerves of a final group game Matchday and Greece are in shambles. Furthermore, Petr Cech has looked fairly unsteady throughout the tournament so far.
I reckon one that you guys should pick is Poland rightback Lukasz Piszczek, as he does have that knack of producing goals with his crossing, and is also a generally good defender. He will get those points today. Furthermore, Yuri Zhirkov would make for a good pick for a defender (especially considering that he will get those points for that clean sheet, the fact that he plays as a midfielder and will score points for both clean sheets and goals). If you wanna go for a Czech player, Kadlec would be a sensible choice. Perhaps the most experienced player in that Czech backline.
Of course I have to start with Russia’s Alan Dzagoev. 3 goals in the tournament so far, and he looks set to become a star in this year’s tournament. Igor Denisov is another that has been instrumental in Russia’s opening two games thus far and Tomas Rosicky has also been instrumental in his teams’ chances, with him providing creativity for Czech Republic in the center of the ball park.
Andrey Arshavin is perhaps the safest choice here, as I’m almost certain that Russia will be knocking in those goals tonight, and Arshavin will start alongside either Kerzhakov or Pavlyuchenko. Lewandowski is another excellent goalscorer, and he will be trying to score with every chance he gets against Czech Republic tonight.
